What this symptom means clinically
Paresis is reduced motor ability or weakness in part of the body, reflecting dysfunction at any point from the central nervous system to peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junctions, or muscles. Mechanisms may include blocked motor nerve signaling, reduced muscle contraction strength, or slowed nerve conduction, appearing as unsteady gait, weakness, or inability to complete specific movements.
