Testicular Enlargement Symptom Guide for Pets | Observation Points and When to Seek Care
Understand possible causes of Testicular Enlargement and home observation points
When testicular enlargement appears, observe and record size and change promptly, and consult a veterinarian if further evaluation is needed.
What this symptom means clinically
Testicular enlargement means abnormal increased volume of the testicle or surrounding tissue, often from congestion, inflammation, hematoma, or cellular proliferation. Tissue fluid, blood-flow changes, or cell proliferation alter size and feel and may produce asymmetry or a mass.
🐱 In cats
Testicular enlargement is less common in cats and requires careful palpation to distinguish swelling from a firm mass; imaging may help.
🐶 In dogs
Dogs more commonly have testicular size changes from trauma, hematoma, or tumors; compare sides and note pain on palpation.
